I am not a HUGE Stephen King fan. I"m just not into the scary stuff. But this film is absolutely AMAZING. Over the years I have watched this film numerous times and it just never gets old. I can"t begin to imagine what an inmate that has spent the majority of their life behind bars goes through after being released into the world once again. The trials and tribulations have to b huge. This film helps the rest of the world to understand what they go thru. AND I LOVE how Tim Robins gets the cash at the end and Morgan Freeman shows up. Just outstanding. I"m sure. This is one of the films that has helped to push me to be an actor. I just hope I can be half as talented as ALL talent in this film.

To be brief, as a man who has watched thousands of movies in my life, Shawshank redemption is the best movie I have ever seen. The plot, the way it develops, the acting, the portrayal of every human emotion, and the ending makes 99% of movies seem like just a waste of time. I didn"t see it until a few years after it came out. My sister said it was a great movie. It was on HBO, so I watched it. I was speechless. I have always found it strange that it was from a Steven King novel. I"ve read a few (not that one) and what comes through in the movie doesn"t seem like anything that would be in a Steven King novel. A better movie may come along but it may be a while.
